Description
After you've owned your G for a few days, you may notice that your stomach doesn't feel right while driving. You look down and realize that the stupid belt buckle is a good 2 inches higher than it should be! There is a difference between the drivers' side and passenger side that you might not notice. The seatbelt latch is about 2 inches higher on the drivers' side. Since the passenger side seat does not have height adjustment, the latch is lower on the seat. One quick solution is to find a comfortable driving position with the seat all the way or 75% of the way "up" (and I mean UP, not forward). When you move the seat higher, the seat belt latch does not move, so it will be lower across your waist. If this is not enough or not an option, then continue on below.

This is a MOD that we're recommending your dealer do. They might look at you funny when you request it, but trust me, it's worth it. With side air bags and the shear weight of the seats, it's best left up to the pros. I removed the seat in my old CL-S to tighten down the rail bolts and the thing was so heavy and bulky that it was near impossible to not scratch anything when removing. Plus, since I disconnected the air bag wires connected to the seat, the SRS warning code triggered and had to be reset by the dealer.

First, go to the parts desk and order a passenger side G35 belt buckle latch (the part that the buckle snaps in to). Then tell them you'd like to schedule a time when they can remove your drivers' side latch and install the passenger side latch in its place.

If you have any further questions, ask away in our Coupe or Sedan Forums.
